The Trojan War
The Trojan War was arguably the most well known war in ancient Greek history. It is told by the poet Homer in the Illiad. The Greeks invaded the city Troy after a Spartan princess, Helen, was taken by a Trojan prince, Paris. The war lasted for ten years in which the Greeks continually tried to breech the walls of the city. The Greeks eventually came up with a plan to trick the Trojans into lowering their guard. The plan was successful and the Greeks invaded Troy and rescued Helen.
