Myths about Hera:
*This story is from Homers' Iliad. It is Book 14 of the Iliad from paragraph 7 to about 15*
This myth is about hoe Hera uses Aphrodite's powers to distract Zeus and ultimately win the Trojan War. At the beginning of this myth, Hera goes to Aphrodite and asks for some of her powers so that she can help a family who has been kind to her. Hera is actually planning on using these powers on her husband Zeus, however, in order to distract him. Once she receives these powers, she goes to find Zeus in an attempt to win the War. When Zeus is under the influence of the powers that Hera borrowed, he quickly becomes distracted and then falls asleep. Hera takes advantage of her husband's distraction to alert Neptune (Poseidon) that Zeus has been distracted and he can aid the Danaans in the War.
