Poseidon: the sea god, earthquakes, and horses
History
When poseidon was born, him and his brothers and sisters were swallowed up by the father Kronus, the leader of the titans. When rescued by his brother Zeus, they defeted Kronus. And his lot was the sea.

Poseidon's powers include controling the sea, and making earthquakes. He has a trident, which he uses to cause earthquakes, and waves. His domain is all the seas, and has his own palace under the sea.

Athena and Poseidon had a cometition to see how a city would be named after. Poseidon made a fountian, and Athena an olive tree. But the fountain created by Poseidon was salt water, making the olive tree more useful. So the city was named Athens, after Athena, goddess of wisedom and stragety.
Some say that Poseidon did not share the same fate as his other brothers and sisters, but was replaced by a colt, like Zeus with a stone.

weakness
Poseidon's weakness was his temper. If he was moody or mad he sent out violenty storms and devestating earthquakes. But when a peace or happy he sent calm, clear waters.
